What is Dry Eye?

Dry eye is a common condition that can cause burning, irritation, redness, watery eyes, and fluctuating vision. For many people, it can also make reading, screen time, or wearing contact lenses uncomfortable.

In many cases, dry eye is not just about a lack of tears — it’s often related to tear quality, inflammation, or issues with the oil glands along the eyelids.

Because the causes can vary, effective treatment starts with a thorough evaluation to understand what’s really driving your symptoms.

Advanced Dry Eye Evaluation

Because dry eye can have many different causes, the first step is a thorough evaluation.

During your visit, we use the Topcon TERA Dry Eye Imager to closely examine:

  • Tear film quality

  • Meibomian gland structure

  • Ocular surface health

This advanced imaging allows us to identify the underlying cause of your symptoms and create a treatment plan tailored specifically to your needs.

Dry eye evaluations and diagnostic testing, including TERA imaging, are often covered by medical insurance plans.

Because dry eye can have different causes, treatment is not one-size-fits-all. We offer a range of options to address your specific symptoms and improve long-term comfort.
